Meet the Arc Spacecraft: All Cargo Delivery Times Will Drop Below 1 Hour

The new Arc spacecraft will soon be able to transport all types of cargo weighing up to 225 kilograms (about 500 lbs). In a future where this technology is widespread, the era of waiting for cargo for days will come to an end.

Los Angeles-based company Inversion has unveiled its groundbreaking new spacecraft, Arc. This brand-new vehicle will be able to deliver up to 225 kilograms of payload to any point on Earth within one hour. Justin Fiaschetti, the company’s co-founder and CEO, explained that Arc can remain on standby in orbit for up to five years and, when needed, autonomously descend to Earth to quickly deliver critical supplies.

Founded in 2021, Inversion has made notable progress quickly. Their first test vehicle, “Ray,” was launched into space on SpaceX‘s Transporter-12 mission in January. Although it did not perform a controlled landing, the Ray mission provided confidence in the company’s technology by successfully testing orbital maneuvering and software.

How Does Arc Work?

In short, the Arc is designed as a spacecraft that does not require a runway for landing and can safely return to Earth using a parachute system. Thanks to its non-toxic fuel system, the vehicle can be safely accessed by soldiers or teams immediately after landing.

In terms of military use, the plan is to transport critical items like medicine, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or vital equipment during critical moments. The company states that it has already produced a full-scale prototype of Arc and aims to be ready for its first mission by the end of 2026. If Inversion meets this goal, the era of waiting for cargo for days—not just for critical missions but also in general logistics—could slowly begin to fade.
